Work Party and Next Year

Tonight, we have the Christmas party at work. We do Dirty Santa, so it's always pretty fun. This year will be a little different feel, though. My area's leader is retiring and the next guy down is moving to the position likely. There's been some tension at work and I'm worried next year will be a bit crazy. In the end, though, it could be good for me.
But anyway, yeah, the party tonight may have some tension and emotions since it'll be the leader's last Christmas with us. He's a great guy.

I'm getting through the intermediate level of SQL on DataLemur. It makes sense, but I think I need to develop or find a little cheat sheet for me to remember the commands. So far, I can push through what they've taught, but I can already feel the beginnings of not remembering all the commands and when to use them. I'm sure I can find a pre-made cheat sheet somewhere... But then again, it doesn't help I'm only learning it on the occasional lunch break. Most people looking to learn SQL probably have more free time they're willing to use to learn. It would be hard to try learning at home with the kids.

Wife is still doing good. Feeling more and more herself, but still trying to figure out what foods work well without having a gallbladder.
Kids are also both doing well. Both definitely into the toddlerhood as they like saying "No!" But we'll get past this stage and onto better (and worse) stages. But it's crazy how fast theyre growing. My oldest (who will be 3 in February) has stopped calling me "daddy" already and just says "dad." I don't know how to feel about it. People aren't kidding when they say time flies. It drags in the moments, but it also flies by as a whole.

There's a very good chance that, by the end of next year, we'll be moving out to the property my parents own. It would be a slightly bigger house with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. That alone will be an awesome change. It will add about 15 minutes to my commute, but that's okay. My wife is nervous about the extra driving, but she'll get used to it. I think she'll like the peace and quiet. And being able to go down to my parents' house for dinner when we feel lazy.
It'll help us out tremendously financially as well. Should be able to pay off the credit cards (or close) from selling our current house and bring in money to pay down other debts faster. So I'm really hoping it goes the way I envision. My wife has started saying "when" instead of "if" about moving out there, so I'll take that as a good sign.
We'll likely get everything set up in that house and leave everything we don't need in the current house and have an indoor yard sale for a bit before donating everything unsold. That way we start the new place off clean without clutter. It would be much easier to maintain that. Currently, our house has a lot of clutter, but my wife's been making good progress on that.

So yeah, there's at least two large things happening next year. Movement in positions around me at work (and possibly my own) and actually moving to a new house. I'm quite nervous, but also a bit excited for the changes.
