Updates and Orcs

Well, I'm going to have an interview about the job I mentioned in the last post. I'm a bit nervous, as I haven't really had an interview for like seven years. I did have to have one technically when the hospital I work at outsourced us to a new company, but that was kind of a wash. This job is an internal one with the same company, but I'm still rather nervous. It would be an at-home position, but I don't really have a good place to work from home currently. If this job somehow moves forward, I may set up an area in the workshop to work out of... until I had a better solution. But that may work, since it'd be away from the kids, who would defintely interupt things, but still be at home. Again, I don't really expect to get this job. But who knows?

I've also been playing a little more of the Steam Deck. Still not much, of course, but I've downloaded Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor to pick up and play occasionally. It seems fun so far. And like an easy game to hop back on with larger breaks. The combat system is very simple.

Kids are doing well. They've regressed with sleep, unfortunately. But my youngest is getting more teeth, so that part is expected. Last night, they actually slept through the night for the first time in a while, so that was nice.

I'm going to try to start going on more walks at home or at the park. I'm thinking at least once a week (probably Mondays), I'll take the girls either to the nearby park to walk or around in our field. We walked the field yesterday, but it was hot if you weren't in the shade. And my wife's health did not allow her to join us. So just one loop through the field, we went. My girls held hands most of the time, which is adorable. They're very good together. But yeah, walking more like that would be good for me. For everyone.

My wife and I started a new short devotional together a few days ago, and so far it's pretty spot on for how we've been. We love each other, but we get on each others' nerves all the time. Such is the married life, right? But yeah, we're getting into devotionals and praying together better than we have in the past. I'm hoping we keep it going forver, as I'm not great at keeping up on that sort of thing, but it defintely makes a difference when we do it. Plus it is a good way for us to connect more with all the chaos in our lives... in today's world.

I do have a cardiology appointment next week after the shock/siezure incident a few months ago... but I'm confident that will be normal. And I don't see the neurologist to follow up with the EEG until December. They haven't called me or anything, so I assume it went as I expected; uneventful. And I'm going to try to get another sleep study done. I did one at home two years ago, but my wife says I snore a lot and sometimes gasp for air, so I'm going to try to get an in-clinic sleep study done now. I'm sure that will be a while.

So that's my little snippet of life lately. Until next time.
