EEG and Chaos

So life has been a little crazy this week. As mentioned before, I had gotten electrocuted early July and had a seizure. Well, I finally saw the neurologist and he scheduled a 72 hour EEG after literally telling me it was overkill. That EEG was this past weekend. So all weekend, I was pretty much confined to my recliner with all the wires hooked up to my scalp. Our kids stayed with my parents so that they would not pull the wires off me… And all I really did was play some No Man’s Sky and MegaBonk. But sitting there all weekend did not feel good. Then getting the glue out of my hair wasn’t very fun, either.

And whilst that was happening, things in my wife’s realm were not going well. As mentioned, her health isn’t the best, but she had planned a Mom’s Retreat anyway. That plan bit the dust this past weekend and it has not been pretty. People are vile. I watched my wife go from excited with a gleam in her eye about it, to very stressed due to a few of the women, to completely broken due to more issues arising and flat out cancelling it. All the money is going to be refunded to the people, which financially hurts us even more, but at this point anything else is just not worth it. It’s a sad deal, for sure. I hurt for her and hate seeing her go through the mess of this retreat. She takes everything to heart and is hurting so bad from all the chaos and ugliness. If you’re the praying type, please, please pray for my wife. And guidance for me to assist her better.
She also has decided to really scale down her skincare business due to her health. She'll likely no longer keep stock or do booths, but will still take custom orders. It just hasn't been worthwile, unfortunately.

In other news that likely will not go anywhere, I applied for another job in the company I work for. I’m currently a biomedical technician who works on equipment that touches patients in the hospital. The position applied for is one that deals with the system I log all my time and work into. Basically, whatever issue tickets about the platform the immediate help desk team cannot figure out would go to the new position. It’d be interesting to work on the back end of the service platform. Plus, it would be a fully remote position, so I could be home more. Like I said, though, I doubt it’ll go anywhere as it sounds like they want someone with more knowledge in the business platform side of things. But, I spoke to the hiring manager and he told me all the applicants so far are in the same boat and to apply anyway. So we’ll see. If God wills it, the door will open. If not, it won’t. Plus, I’d have to make at least as much as I make now including on-call for it to even be feasible. If I get an interview, then I’ll ask about that.

Life, though, is hard at times. All we can do is trust. Trusting is easier said than done, but I am trying. Lord help us.
